Sun Safety Tips

Sunscreen is your first line of defense against harmful UV rays. Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day, even on cloudy days. Reapply every 2 hours and after swimming or sweating to stay protected.

Protective Clothing

Cover up to block UV exposure. Wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, wide-brimmed hats, and sunglasses. Look for clothing labeled UPF 50+ to shield your skin while staying cool and comfortable outdoors.

Shade & Timing

The sun is strongest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Seek shade during these hours, especially during outdoor activities. Use umbrellas, trees, and shelters to reduce direct exposure and stay cooler.

UV Index Tool

Check the daily UV index to know your risk. A higher index means stronger UV radiation. Use this tool to plan outdoor time and adjust your sun protection based on current conditions.
